Plugin Interface & Controls

Key parameters include:

Range: 24dB of range of action adjustable for the rider fader.

Rider: Visually represents the amount of gain change (boost or reduction) that the plugin is applying to the signal. Usage: By watching this dynamic display, you can see how much the plugin is adjusting the audio level in real time.

Output: Adjust output gain at any given moment.

Target: The desired audio level that the plugin will target to maintain.

Limiter: Soft control of peaks, compresses the audio signal as little as possible with respect to its dynamics while avoiding digital distortion/clipping when the signal gets near to 0.0 dBFS.

Limiter Lookahead: From 1 ms to 5 ms of look ahead allows the limiter to reduce the audio signal smoothly before a peak, this controls more effectively possible clipping. 

Limiter Release: From 0 seconds up to 2 seconds of release time maintains level reduction, this increases glue in the sound. 

Vocal Sensitivity: Controls the vocal detector sensitivity, which differentiates vocal content from noise floor, spill, and ambience, and identifies the beginnings and endings of words. This features works as a NoiseGate that softly removes noise/bleeding from your tracks.

Music Sensitivity: Determines the amount RaiderPro adapts to changes in instrumental levels. (“Instrumental”  refers to all tracks other than the audio). Range: -3 to +3 dB. Please note: To use this control, the instrumental mix bus must be assigned to the RaiderPro side-chain input.

Attack modulation: controls the response time at which the Rider slider changes the dynamics of the audio. The range of attack modulation is from 0.1 ms up to 5 seconds.

Automation Write: Default position of the RPro2 allows writing the automation into the DAW automation lane. It requires that your DAW is configured to write automation, this setup may vary between DAWs.

Automation Read: Reads the automation from the Rider Fader automation lane. Disables the Rider Fader and algorithm to reduce CPU.

Workflow Integration

Optimal placement in the signal chain: typically before other processors like compressors or equalizers. Although RPro2 contains a limiter as part of its features, it is a soft limiter so further compression can be added in case it is needed. 

Operational Principles

Algorithm Details: By tracking the dynamic range, the plugin automatically adjusts the gain to keep the audio level steady, even as the performance varies, these adjustments can be baked into your DAW using the automation features. A limiter has been added at the end of the processing chain in order to avoid digital distortion.
